I...I am completely, 100% with you about birthdays. I do all sorts of special things for their birthday as a family and invite whoever is around for grandparents for cake. A couple presents. And that's it. No friend parties with themes and stuff that we don't need. We have plenty of stuff as it is! <br /><br />I do want to throw a big annual party every year, because I think that's fun. Instead of a birthday bash, we did a Country Lovin' Kids Festival. Free stuff for as many families who want to come. If able, we ask for gently used or new toys/toiletries for the Bags of Love Ministry (providing things for children removed from their home and placed in foster care). We had such the loot last year...and I"m thrilled it wasn't for us, it was for other people. Here's the link.
